The dama gazelle, also known as the addra gazelle or mhorr gazelle, is a species of gazelle. It lives in Africa, in the Sahara desert and the Sahel. Wikipedia

Scientific name: Nanger dama

A gazelle is a type of antelope. They are thin, slender and nimble, normally having tan-coloured fur with patches of white. They live in parts of Asia, China and Africa. Gazelles live in very dry climates and have adapted to the point that they are able to survive in environments that are almost completely waterless. They can survive in the desert and cope with quite drastic increases in temperature.

Gazelles tend to live in herds. These herds vary in size; while some can be small and consist of only ten animals, others can be large and contain several hundred. They’re herbivores, meaning they only eat plants (grasses, shoots, and leaves, primarily) and can live for around ten to twelve years.

Female gazelles carry their young for six months before giving birth to one or two babies. When they’re born, the mothers hide the babies in very long grass for up to several weeks until the mother deems them ready to join the rest of her herd.
